The Making of an Intuitive Life Coach
It took me years to really trust myself.
In school, you are not taught to trust your body. You are taught to use your mind almost exclusively. Feelings do not often fall into the curriculum.
As I grew older I explored different avenues. I took yoga classes and learned to center myself more. I received a degree in psychology from Boston University. I studied healing modalities, including Reiki. I played in dance classes and moved fluidly through Tai Chi. I even sat with a Zen master and practiced mindfulness techniques.
But it wasn’t until I spent several years exhausted, trying to push myself through each day and moving far from my center that I really snapped into trusting myself.
You know how that goes?
- You talk yourself into things that you don’t want to do.
- You feel like a robot on automatic.
- You override to yourself over and over again.
- Your body sends you distress signals.
It got to the point that I didn’t believe what I was telling myself.
And I knew that the only option that would bring me alive was to trust myself.
So I embraced the Zen saying:
Leap and the net will appear.
I made some major changes in my life. And one of them was listening to my intuition each day. If I felt compelled to do something then I did it, even if it didn’t make sense to my logical self.
I tuned into my soul.
What did I need today? Rest? Movement? Fun? And I followed the trail of clues.
Through this process I learned to trust my body, my soul, my heart, and came out of a very dark tunnel.
Do you want to trust yourself more? Strengthen your intuition? Feel more free?
